February Gratitude List

Friday, 28 February 2020

February has been a tough month for me in more ways than one, but we're not here to dwell on the bad, instead, I've scraped together some of the highlights of this month!

It was my best friend's & mother's birthdays. If there's one thing I love more than anything, it's gifting things to those closest to me, and a birthday is always a good excuse to go out and pick something for your nearest and dearest! My friend came round to my house and we played Monopoly (the Friends version, which was part of my present to her) and we ordered a takeaway and had a night in. We both work full-time and I have a toddler so we don't get to spend as much time together as we used to, so it was nice to have a lil ol' catch up! The same goes for my mam, she's one of those people who constantly puts others before herself and is generally just one of the most selfless people I know, so it was lovely to treat her for a change!

I painted my bathroom. This one seems really, really insignificant but I've been putting off painting my bathroom since last year and have had 7 different paint samples dotted around my bathroom walls. I finally painted it last weekend and it's made the world of difference to how the bathroom looks!

I actually saved some money. If you know me, you will know that I am notoriously bad with my money. I even said in my 20 plans for 2020 post that I wanted to save some money this year and generally learn to manage my money better, and this month I actually saved some! I got a Monzo account and now I use my regular bank account for bills and transfer any disposable income into my Monzo account. I love that you can create different pots for different things and it's helped my money mindset so much!

My daughter's 2.5 year check went amazingly well. I was dreading Rosie's 2.5 year check up even though deep down I knew I had nothing to worry about. But my brain was going into overdrive thinking 'what if she doesn't talk enough?', 'what if she throws a tantrum in front of the health visitor?', 'what if they tell me she's not developing as she should be?' But actually, the health visitor was lovely and had nothing but positive things to say about her... and she didn't have a tantrum, even was she was being weighed and measured!
