February Book Haul

Saturday, 29 February 2020

Would you even believe me if I said I was on a book buying ban this month? NOPE ME NEITHER. But I was, and it quite clearly did not go to plan. I have no excuses other than I am a weak human being who caves far, far too easily.

It all started with a trip to Waterstones on a gloomy weekday work lunch break. It was there that I spotted The Five by Hallie Rubenhold and Finale by Stephanie Garber in the buy-one-get-one-half-price deal. I'd been anticipating The Five for a while after reading some ARC reviews and I didn't realise that Finale was now out in paperback; I've got Caraval and Legendary (books #1 and #2 in the Caraval series) in paperback and Finale in hardback, but you know how it is, they've got to be matchy matchy.

A few days later I popped back into Waterstones (on another lunch break, no less) and picked up The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black, which is a bind up of Tithe, Viliant and Ironside. I thought this was a bargain as I was essentially getting three books for £9.99 - how could I possibly say no?

It's at this point that I have come to realise that every book in this haul is from Waterstones, which proves how I like to spend my lunch breaks at work! This time I picked up Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and Skyward by Brandon Sanderson but in my defence, I had over £11 on my points card so these two books cost me the grand total of... £1.47!

And last but not least, is Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng, which I also got in a buy-one-get-one-half-price deal, only this time I went halves with my friend!

What books have you picked up in February?
